...set alarm to 5:30 AM...
...nevermind the thunderstorm that came thru 4 hrs. earlier...

Great Falls Nat'l Park ended up being the closest riding to the hotel so we managed to get there and hit the trail by 7am. I can't say that the creekside trails there were a true initiation into riding "east coast style", but the bruises on my knees did let me know that something was different.

This is either the Potomac river or the Potowmac Canal
