the group's four 1992-95 albums. With several instructional books already in print, Willis goes the strict songbook route here. Still, bassists will
benefit from the notation and tablature of Gary's sprawling solos and rapid-fire grooves (not to mention his postmodern writing). In addition, a
revealing, wide-ranging interview serves as an intro. Though advanced, the 111-page book is a must for Willis fans as well as any bassisist
interested in examining groove and solo improvisation at the highest level.
